i.)         DURATION : 3 Academic years consisting of three parts I,II, & III.

ii.)        QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION:

A Student who has passed the intermediate of +2 Examination of a Board/University of from any recognized institution is eligible for admission to B.A. (General /Honours ) Part I course keeping in the view of following provisions:

I.)       For offering Hons in a subject the student must have obtained at least 45% marks in the subject concerned or in an allied subject at intermediate level.

II.)       A Student of Science /Commerce who desires to change his faculty and wants to pursue B.A. Part-1 Hons course can do so only if he/she has obtained not less than 45% marks in aggregate .Provided that a candidate shall not choose (a) Mathematics unless he has passed I.Sc Exams in Math and secured 45% marks and (b)  English unless he has passed I.Sc /I.Com Exam in English and secured 45 % marks.

III.)      A Student of Science / Commerce who desires to change his faculty and wants no pursue B.A. (General ) Part-1 course can do so only if he/she has obtained not less than 45% marks in aggregate.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

For B.A. (HOns ) Course: A student should choose one subject as honours and two subjects as  subsidiary from the following list.

a)      Subjects taught

 1. English             2. Hindi               3. Bengali              4. Philosophy

5. Political Sc.      6. History            7. Economics        8. Urdu

9. Mathematics

     (b)     Courses:

               The Bachelor of Arts (General/Honours) course covers a period of three academic years and is known in the first year of study as the B.A. (Gen/Hons) Part I, in the second year of study as the B.A. (Gen/Hons) Part II Course and third year of study as the BA (Gen/Hons) Part III Course. For details about the rules and regulations guiding the Bachelor of Arts Honours/General course please refer to the courses of study published by Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag from time to time.

Besides the above choice,a candidate has to choose either

         (a)     Or (b) from languages in part-1 and Part-II

         (b)     Hindi or (b) Hindi and one of the following languages:

         (c)     Bengali,Urdu, English

B. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (General/Honours):

i.)       DURATION : 3 Academic years consisting of three parts I,II, & III.

ii.)      QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION:

For admission to the B.Sc. (Hons) course, it is necessary for a student to secure 45 % marks at the Intermediate or +2 level equivalent examination (Board of Council ) in the subject offered for honours study or in an allied subject as determined by the University Academic Council in case the subject was not prescribed for study at the Intermediate level. In such case a student must have passed intermediate/Board/Council or any equivalent examination with an aggregate of 45 % marks. A candidate shall not choose (i) Mathematics unless he/she has passed the I.Sc. Examination or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (ii ) Physics unless he /she has passed the I.Sc. examination or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent in Chemistry and physics with Mathematics or equivalent in chemistry and Physics with Mathematics or Biology and ( iii) Botany/Zoology unless he/she has passed Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Moreover, the student should be declared passed by the respective Board/Council.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

A candidate for B.Sc (Honours ) examination shall choose one Honours subject and two subsidiary subjects from the following groups:

i)         Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

ii)        Botany, Zoology, Chemistry

Besides the above choice , a candidate has to choose either (a) or (b) for languages in part-I and Part-II

          (a)        Hindi or (b) Hindi and one of the following languages.

          (b)        Bengali, Urdu, English

A candidate for B.Sc (Gen ) examination (Gen.) examination shall choose three subjects from the above mentioned groups. C: BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (General/Honors ):-

i.)         DURATION : 3 Academic years consisting of three parts I, II, & III.

a.)      QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION:

A Student who has passed the intermediate  Examination  in commerce of a Board/University or  from any recognized institution is eligible for admission to B.Com (General /Honours ) Part I course keeping in the view of following provisions:

IV.)      For offering Hons degree the student must have obtained not less  than 45% marks at the Intermediate  Commerce examination in aggregate of commerce papers or any group of commerce subject. In case of CBSE and ICSE Examinations a candidate must have secured aggregate of 45 % in commerce papers at +2 level examination.

V.)       A Student  of Science /Arts  who desires to change his faculty and wants to pursue B.Com Hons course can do so only if he/she has obtained not less than 45% marks in aggregate  at  I.Sc /I.A Examinations.

VI.)     A Student who has obtained 45 % marks in aggregate at I.Sc or I.A examinations may be admitted for B.Com (General) Course.A candidate has also to choose Hindi or Hindi and Bengali/Uru/Eng in Part-1 and Part-II.
